Why Wednesday Is Our New Family Day

Maxi Cosi Car Seat Thank you Maxi-Cosi for sponsoring this post. Keep your little adventurers comfy, safe & stylish with the Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 car seat!

As a family of entrepreneurs, our schedule changes constantly. But without a schedule, we go crazy. About 2 months ago we set up a new schedule for our family that we have been loving. Wednesday is our new family day (also a bit of an unplug day). My husband and I tend to do some work on the weekends as well, so it’s nice to dedicate one day completely to family & try to unplug as much as possible (although I do end up working in the evenings).

On one of our recent family days we installed Emma’s new car seat. She had started to become a little whiney in hers & I think it’s because it was getting too small. We got the Maxi Cosi Magellan 5 in 1 car seat, and OMG it’s like she’s chilling in a luxury recliner. It’s so plush & comfy! Dylan installed the car seat & we headed out for a family fun day.

We decided to head to lunch first. We got pizza (one of Noah’s favorites). I know some parents hate taking their kids to restaurants, but I LOVE it. Maybe it’s because we don’t go out to eat often, so when we do I really enjoy it. Plus, it’s fun for the kids. They like to experience eating at restaurants, and they are always so dang sweet. I make sure to pack my diaper bag with anything I might need (extra wipes, diapers, snacks, clothes, etc). I actually put up a Youtube video recently about what I usually have in my diaper bag HERE.

After lunch we headed to the nearby park. It was HOT out (gotta love TX summers, lol). Luckily most of the park was shaded so we got to play for a little while. Emma isn’t walking yet (she’s only 11 months), so I usually end up carrying her a lot. I think I’m also secretly in denial that she’s growing so fat #momlife.

On the way home, something magical happened. Emma fell asleep in her car seat my friends. This hasn’t happened in months. I’m talking like 5 months or more. She used to fall asleep in her carseat when she was super tiny, but hadn’t in SO long. In fact, it seemed like she started hating her car seat. Once we got home we realized she was asleep, so we decided to drive around a bit more (hoping Noah would follow in her footsteps). We drove around, looked at houses (we love doing this), and we dropped by the grocery. I popped in and grabbed some things we needed while Dylan hung out in the car with the resting babies.

Maxi Cosi Car SeatEmma slept the entire time until we got home. Noah decided to stay awake, but he was close. It would have been just too perfect if both of them fell asleep (gotta celebrate whatever victories you can as a parent!). I was SO pumped about her falling asleep in the new Maxi-Cosi Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat. We are legit in love with this thing. It can actually be used from birth up to 10 years old (5lbs. to 120lbs.)! The Magellan is the only convertible car seat equipped with Maxi-Cosi’s patented Adjustable Side Impact Protection, which creates a customized fit for all growth stages and ensures maximum protection in the proper position. It would have been perfect for her as a newborn too, but man I’m so glad we have it now. She is in LOVE with it. It’s making me highly consider getting one for Noah too because it’s so comfy (I’m kinda jealous over here wishing I could have a car seat of my own, lol). Did you know Maxi-Cosi brand is the top selling baby car seat worldwide? Over the past 30 years Maxi-Cosi car seats have carried over 50 million babies home from the hospital. You can get the Magellan 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat (retail price $349.99) at the following retailers: Amazon, Target.com, Buy Buy Baby, Nordstrom.com, and Albee Baby.

Maxi Cosi Car SeatIt may have been a pretty low key family day, but it was pretty great to me. I look forward to Wednesday every single week. When you work long hours & basically any chance you can, it’s so important to create a schedule for yourself & to pick certain days that you can fully dedicate to your family. Sunday is also typically a day off for us, but we tend to get some work done on Saturday’s when possible. We play the “trade off with the kiddo”s game pretty often. Wednesday is just that little gem of a day where we both are fully present (no trade offs), and we try to focus all time and energy on the kiddos (it’s the best day of the week!).

Thanks so much for stopping by today friends! Have a great day!

XO,

Lee Anne
