Happy Wednesday Friends! I get to be in the dentists chair in a couple of hours #luckyme. I’ve literally been putting off going to the dentist for WAY too long. I had pregnancy as an excuse last year, and now it’s like ehhh… I need to make an appointment. I swear before becoming a mom, I was so good at making my dentist appointments, but now it’s just one more thing to do. Anyway…
Today I wanted to share this freaking adorable striped maxi dress with you guys. It’s seriously the most perfect vacation dress. Anyone have one coming up? We had to put a bit of a pause on traveling a lot this year due to the house renovation process (and all the money that gets dumped into it!), BUT…. if I were going somewhere this dress would be packed into my suitcase.
It’s the PERFECT cover up. I love the stripes, and the slits up the front. I was wearing it here with a Free People bralette (which I totally used to hate, but it turned out I got the wrong size… can’t fit these milk machines into a size small… duh) & a nude thong and it worked perfectly as well. So it can be worn as a coverup during the day, and a dress to wear out to dinner at night! Best part about this cute dress!? It’s only $42! I discovered Red Dress Boutique about a month ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. You guys know I’m all about finding a good deal, and they have the best deals on the cutest stuff!
Now… when it comes to the renovation update…. HOLY HECK it’s taking FOREVER. We have our current lease until the end of May, and our original plan was to move into the house on May 15th. I don’t see that happening. Originally Dylan was going to paint everything himself (it’s a big house, and the ceilings are scary high). I told him I didn’t really want him to paint where the ceilings were really high (too dangerous & not worth it) so we hired someone to do those areas and they start next week. Dylan is doing all of the other areas (the trim and all of the other rooms).
We are using PPG Timeless paints, which have been awesome (especially for covering up the black paint!). Dylan’s been using a paint sprayer for this. A lot of you have been asking what colors we are using as well so I wanted to share them. For the trim we are using the color White on White. For the walls we are using Nova White. For the gray accent walls we are using Silver Reflection. For Emma’s room I found a really pretty blush color which is called Subtle Peach. I cannot wait for it all to be done!
As for the kitchen… oh man. It’s been a process. Right now we are picking out appliances, a new sink, and a cooktop. Stay tuned for more renovation progress (hoping to shoot a video soon for Youtube. If you missed our empty house tour you can watch it below!
