Our Combined Playroom and Guest Room

Combined Guest Room and PlayroomHappy Thursday!  Wow… it’s taken us forever to get this room together!  We’ve lived in our house for almost a year now, and we are finally getting this space set up to what we want it to be. I feel like this is a common theme for other families. You may have an extra room in your home, but you don’t necessarily want it to be a guest room that never gets used.

We’ve created a few spots in our home with items from Walmart recently, and I’m hooked. Creating an amazing space doesn’t have to cost an arm & a leg. Walmart has some of the best decor pieces, and no one will believe you found them at Walmart!

For us, we really wanted a playroom for the kids, but we also wanted a guest room for when family came into town.  We decided to combine them, and this is the best layout we’ve found! The other side of the room is a large wall with storage for toys. We also have a big closet in this room where we store a lot of toys. I will have to show you the storage area in another blog post soon!

We had been searching high & low for the perfect muphy bed/storage combo, and finally came across this one at Walmart! It’s seriously awesome, and one of my favorite features is the pull out drawer at the bottom. This room is mostly used for a playroom so the fact that it folds up into this small cabinet/storage situation is ideal for us. The kids have a ton of room to play, and we can store toys in the bottom drawer. This exact one seems to be sold out at the moment, but they have more options for them that I will link below. They are VERY similar.

And… how pretty is this bed set? I had asked you guys about it on Instagram stories about a month ago, and ended up going with it! A couple of you had it and loved it, so I wanted to give it a shot. It’s so pretty, but also “adult”. Does that make sense? LOL. I feel like it also has bohemian/Austin vibes so I’m all about it. And GUESS what!? It comes in more colors. Lastly, another new piece is this rug. I love how it’s neutral, but has the cutest pattern. Perfect for this space! It comes in a ton of sizes too!

A big thanks to Walmart for sponsoring this post. All thoughts & opinions are always my own.

We are also looking for a Murphy bed for in our nursery, this looks like a great option. Has anyone slept on it yet? Is it comfortable?
