My Honest Opinion On Life Insurance

New Haven Life Insurance

The only thing I heard about life insurance growing up was something along the lines of “Oh.. I’m going to knock Bill down the stairs, and collect his life insurance policy when I’m ready”. LOL… you know what I mean? I always heard jokes about it, and never really took it seriously. Now that I have kids, the importance of life insurance has taken a whole new form.

Nobody wants to think about death. It’s something you push away in your mind, so who wants to prepare for it? Just the thought of it makes me feel icky. But in all honesty, once you have kids, it’s something that needs to be thought about. When I was 8 years old my dad passed away. It was an accident, so it’s not something we saw coming. If I lost my husband while my kids were 8 years old, I would be set back for awhile. I honestly don’t know how I would function.

Dylan and I work together. We are a family business. If something were to happen to either of us, it would cause significant problems financially. Being that there are more people to support in this family than just me and him, we have to be smart about this. We need to think about our kids, and make sure if something happened to either of us, our family would be okay financially.

A life insurance policy helps provide the financial security my family would need if something ever happened to me. Knowing Dylan would have the financial cushion to help pay for our mortgage, child care, day-to-day bills, or even putting money away for college gives me peace of mind.

Now… when it comes to actually getting Life Insurance, I thought the process would be super daunting. This is where online life insurance agency Haven Life comes in. They’re a startup in the life insurance space that’s backed and wholly owned by MassMutual. The site is SO easy and friendly. You can get an initial estimate for a Haven Term policy within seconds. Once you have your life insurance quote, you can easily apply for coverage online. The application is simple – about 30 questions and can be filled out on your phone – and many applicants can receive an instant decision on coverage when finished!

The website also shows you what real life people are paying for their life insurance on the left hand side while you’re using the estimate tool. I’m sort of nerdy with numbers, so I really liked being able to see the comparisons doing this. A healthy 35-year-old woman can purchase a 20-year, $500,000 Haven Term policy, issued by MassMutual, starting at about $18 per month.

You can start by getting a quote HERE, and I promise you it’s not some scam where someone calls you right away, lol. It only takes a second to get a quote, and they make it simple to get high-quality coverage from a leading life insurer. I was honestly surprised at how affordable the options were per month. I know this is a somewhat off topic thing for me to share about on my blog, but in all honesty I’m really passionate about this. Losing a parent at a young age is something I went through, and if my kids ever have to go through it, I want to be prepared for it in anyway I can.

Alright… now I need to go grab Emma from her nap. Does anyone officially now feel like a total adult after reading this post? LOL. I know adult life can be boring, and getting these things done feels like the last thing you want to do on your to-do list, but making time for these things not only is super important, but it just makes you worry less. Alright… I’m going to stop chatting your ears off now.

Thanks so much for stopping by today friends!
