20 Things You Might Not Know About Me

20 Things About Me Hi friends! I thought I would do something a little different on the blog today and share 20 things you might not know about me. I’ve seen some other bloggers do something similar, and I always love reading these types of posts. It’s fun to get to know other girls I follow, and it’s also fun to get to know my readers. I encourage YOU to leave something about yourself in the comments below. I love hearing from you guys! SO here goes!

  1. I was born in Michigan, and lived there until I was 12 years old. When I was in 6th grade my family relocated to Indiana where I went to middle school, high school, and college.
  2. I have an addiction to Mexican candy. I remember the first time I tried it when I lived in Michigan when I was a little girl. One of my friends had some at school, and I was obsessed. There was only one store that carried it in town, and it went out of business. Luckily I live in Texas now, so it’s not hard to find Mexican candy when the craving hits!
  3. I have a brother and a sister. My sister is 2 years younger than me and lives in Austin as well. My brother is 6 years older than me and lives in Indiana.
  4. My dad passed away when I was 8 years old. It was sudden, and it was one of the worst days I can remember. I feel like losing a parent at a young age has made me a lot stronger as an adult. It also makes me appreciate everyday on this earth.
  5. I grew up taking dance lessons. In high school I was on a competitive dance team and traveled for dance competitions. Can I get an amen for tap, jazz, and ballet life? Ha! To this day, I miss dance so much. I always tell myself I need to get back into some classes!
  6. My sister and I are extremley close. Oftentimes we think the same things at the same time, dress similar, and always crave the same foods. Luckily she lives in Austin, so we spend a lot of time together.
  7. I studied Apparel Merchandising and Business in college. I thought I was going to graduate and be a buyer at a retail corporate headquarters. I ended up in retail management, and started my first blog during that that job, because I felt uninspired, and was yearning to do my own thing.
  8. My first blog was a women’s shopping blog. It was more like a website than a blog. I was way too embarrassed to share actual outfit photos of myself. I finally got the confidence to share my first outfit photo years later.
  9. I love to clean. It’s a total stress reliever. I would always choose vacuuming as one of my chores growing up.
  10. I’ve always been competitive. When I was younger I would try to finish my math test before everyone else. As soon as I was done I would turn my paper over as fast as I could so I could be the first one done in the class.
  11. I’m a total homebody. Weekends at home with my family are my absolute favorite. When I was younger we would have family game night on Friday, and we would play board games. I actually loved staying home and hanging out with my family as a kid, and it’s still my favorite thing to do.
  12. I constantly crave Tex Mex, but whenever I get to the restaurant I eat way too many chips & salsa, and can never finish my meal.
  13. I broke my elbow performing a cheerleading stunt. Word to the wise: tall people shouldn’t be fliers, and never practice stunts at home, lol. My cheerleading career was short, because I ended up having more of a passion for dance.
  14. I never thought I would be a blogger who put myself out there, and shared my life online.  I’m a pretty private person, so it’s still weird that I ended up doing this.
  15. One of my favorite parts about blogging is connecting with other women or inspiring someone else to follow their dreams and launch a blog of their own.
  16. I love to snowboard and wakeboard.
  17. I’m a girly-girl, but then again I’m totally not.
  18. I love to put Barefoot Contessa on the tv, pour a glass of wine, and chop up vegetables to prepare a big soup.
  19. I love to sleep. When I was younger, I would literally tell my mom to put me to bed. I’m still huge on sleep, and don’t function well without it.
  20. I’m not the best in big groups. I’m more of a one-on-one or small group person, and tend to be on the introverted side

Loved getting to know more about you! I danced from age 3 to 18 to I feel ya on the dance life. My favorites were jazz and hip hop.

  7. Annie on May 17, 2017 at 3:40 pm

Loved reading this! I crave Texmex all the time as well and definitely can relate in the homebody department!

  8. Samantha on May 17, 2017 at 3:47 pm

Yes to the Tex-Mex cravings! That’s one of the hardest parts about being a Texan who doesn’t live in Texas! You can’t find great food like that anywhere else. 🙂

  9. Kristen on May 17, 2017 at 3:55 pm

i love this post! such a cute idea! I may have to borrow the theme! Im with you, when I was young, I LOVED being the first one done with a test or anything. And, sleep, I used to be the first one alseep at sleep overs and still go to bed so early!

Ah, keep these posts coming!!! I love learning more about the bloggers behind my favorite blogs!

  13. Cali Larsen on May 17, 2017 at 11:50 pm

I’m definitely the introvert type as well. It’s nice to hear that coming from someone who is a successful blogger. I am not a blogger but I run a personal training/coaching business through Instagram and most think that if you have lots of followers and you’re able to put yourself out there then you must be a super outgoing, spotlight lover kinda gal.

Thanks for all the great info! I love your BLOG! So much great info!!!

Love this list!! My dad passed away 5 years ago, which is obviously not the same as losing your dad as a child… but moving home to co-parent my young sisters with my mom really opened my eyes to what that must have felt like. I also studied apparel merchandising! At FSU! We have so much in common! HAHA! Thanks for sharing this!

Aw, thanks for sharing this tid bits about yourself! I tend to be introverted too 🙂 When I’m in a big group, I usually do a lot of observing rather than talking! I used to dance in high school too, and was on the color guard and did Tae Kwon Do!

I like to think of myself as girly-girl, makeup and dresses, but i also have my tomboy side. The side of me that loves football matches and football wear and beer. Funnily enough, growing up I was a huge tomboy. Hated anything girly. I love reading these posts 😀 xxx

  21. Amanda on May 18, 2017 at 11:46 pm

I love reading posts like this, it’s always so interesting learning about other people and seeing similarities! I’m an introvert too and putting personal info on my blog is SO hard for me– I don’t even know if I could create a post like this 😛

  22. Nicole Leffew on May 19, 2017 at 9:25 am

That’s so funny- I was a dancer and cheerleader, too! But I chose cheer over dance in the end. I still want to get back into classes, though!

I love these kinds of posts! We actually have a lot in common, including being from the Midwest! I was never a homebody, but I’ve sort of become one. I also lived the dance life. I danced from when I was 3 to when I was 18. Tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical! I miss it so much and wish I could find adult classes that weren’t for beginners! Ha Tap was my favorite! I love to snowboard and wish I could do it more! Thanks for sharing more about you!

Love posts like this. It’s always nice to know a little more about the person behind the blog! I definitely relate to #12. Every time they set out the chips and salsa I tell myself not to eat them all, but I always end up eating the whole thing and only get round to two bites of my meal. Maybe one day I’ll learn haha!

    • Lee Anne on May 24, 2017 at 8:45 pm

      I never learn, haha!

  27. Sydney on May 24, 2017 at 11:48 pm

Yes girl hands up for the dancer life!! I was a dancer for 15 years, classically trained in Ballet, modern, theatre, contemporary, and jazz!!

    • Lee Anne on May 25, 2017 at 2:16 pm

      yay!!

  28. Sherrie on January 30, 2018 at 8:21 am

I too grew up in (SW) Michigan, moved to Indiana for college (& stayed) & lost my Mama in my late teens. I went into retail mgmt out of college, until the Lord blessed my husband & I with our twin boys?…then became a stay at home Mama. (Incidentally, both were drafted by Texas Rangers & one pitched for the Round Rock Express last season. Small world?!) When thinking of your new home, if you purchase near RR, you might consider a “casita” (as they call it in AZ) or an apartment to rent out to a player. They are moved around & make so little $$ that a rental would be an amazing opportunity. (& most players are training 12 HRs a day —or traveling).
Really enjoy your posts & will be sharing your baby/new Mama advice w/my other sons wife, expecting in June? You & Jen from SisterStudio are favs—keep up the great work!

    • Lee Anne on January 30, 2018 at 12:06 pm
