Hotel Granduca Stay

I was so excited, because I had heard amazing things about the hotel! It’s in West Austin, and the location is perfect. I love West Austin because of all of the hills and views. It’s so gorgeous, and reminds me a lot of California.

The hotel was inspired by a 16th century Italian palace. It feels like a little piece of Italy right in Austin. Everything is insanely gorgeous. Our room was incredible. My favorite part of the room was our bathroom. The bathtub was amazing, and the shower was huge. I had never been in a hotel room with such a massive bathroom. The room felt more like a small apartment than a hotel room.

We checked in around 3 pm, unpacked, and headed downstairs to the hotel restaurant, Visconti. We opted for the happy hour menu which is centered around four mouth-watering pizzas. We ordered the margherita & the parma. Both were delicious. Noah was a big fan of the margherita pizza. Happy Hour is served every Sunday-Wednesday from 4-7 pm. They also have happy hour specials on the peroni, wine, and prosecco. We will definitely be making a trip back just for the happy hour alone!

Noah wasn’t in the mood to sit for long, so we had our dessert delivered to the room. It was pouring raining outside, and Noah was ready for bed shortly after dinner, so we relaxed in the room for the rest of the evening. I took a long bath, slipped into the cozy hotel robe and slippers, and then we relaxed on the bed and watched the Olympics. It was such a nice little break away from home.

The hotel provided a crib for Noah, and we had a separate room for him to sleep in, so we all got a great night of sleep. Noah loves his own room when it comes to sleeping. I’m always trying to get him to cuddle up with me and take a nap on the couch, and he is not into it. Everyone tells me I’m so lucky that he’s such an independent sleeper, but every so often I wish he would just drift off to dreamland in my arms like he did when he was a newborn.

It was still pouring rain when we woke in the morning. We we’re pretty bummed because the pool at the hotel looked amazing. It’s a huge saltwater pool with a hot tub, a pool bar, and adorable cabanas to relax in. We will have to make a trip back sometime when rain is not included in the forecast so we can enjoy the pool! We ended up grabbing some breakfast tacos down the street & then relaxed in the room before checkout.

If you’re looking for an amazing hotel to stay at during your next trip to Austin then you must check out the Hotel Granduca. If you are already in Austin, hop in your car after work and head to Visconti for the happy hour. You will love it!

A big thanks to Hotel Granduca for hosting us on this relaxing little staycation!
