Bumpdate: 40 Weeks
So what’s been going on? I can’t believe I’m already 40 weeks and today is Noah’s due date. I went to the doctor last Tuesday and was told I was 3 cm dilated and that I was making awesome progress. My doctor also told me that I would be in labor by the end of the week. Well it’s currently Sunday morning and no baby yet… I’ve had a ton of false labor signs and have been having contractions for about a week now. The contractions haven’t been crazy painful… mostly just uncomfortable.
How far along? Exactly 40 weeks. Today is Noah’s due date. Where are you little guy?
Baby Size: Baby is as big as a small pumpkin (info from baby center app). I’m excited to see how long and big this guy is. I have a feeling he has big feet and hands due to his karate moves inside of the womb!
Maternity Clothes: I’m actually to the point where my maternity clothes are getting too small. I’m so ready to be back in my regular clothes, although I know it will be awhile until that will be the case.
Movement: So much! It’s to the point where the kicks are painful. I don’t think there’s much space for this little guy to roam around at this point so I feel every movement.
Food cravings/aversions: If I’ve craved anything during this pregnancy it has been sweets. I’m normally not a sweets person at all and I think I have taking more of a liking to them during the past 40 weeks than I have in my entire life.
Nausea, vomiting, or sickness? Nope.
What I miss: It’s somewhat hard to remember what it’s like to not be pregnant at this point. I am looking forward to running again!
Symptoms? Being 40 weeks means being super uncomfortable. I am definitely waddling around like a penguin and it’s so hard to find a good position to sit or lay in.
Best moment this week: Spending time with family has been incredible lately. My parents are in town waiting on the arrival of this little guy so we’ve had a lot of time with them. My mom made us a delicious dinner this week at the house they are renting and it was so nice to have a homemade meal from mom.
Sleep: I’ve actually been sleeping well on my right side. It’s hard to get comfortable at first, but once I am comfortable I’ve been getting at least 7 hours this past week.
What I’m looking forward to: I’m really looking forward to the birth and the moment when my husband and I can bond with our son for the first time. This past week has been a constant waiting game. Car seat is in the car, baby clothes are washed/folded/and organized, hospital bags are packed…. We’re ready for you Noah!
