BABY ESSENTIALS: FIRST MONTH

baby 1

I’m super excited to quickly get this post together and share it with all of you. By quickly I mean it will most likely take me 3 hours in between diaper changes, breastfeeding, and burping. That’s the mom life for ya, It’s really funny looking back to the time when I made my registry. I added so many things I did not need. Now I know what you actually need for baby and what you don’t need and I wanted to be able to share it with my readers. I’ve found these items extremely helpful during this first month. There are obviously more things I’ve found helpful, but these have really stuck out as lifesavers!

Diapers/ Wipes: Huggies Snugglers Diapers & CVS Sensitive Skin Wipes ( I really like the snugglers diapers because they hug the baby in all the right spots so you don’t have to worry about leakage. I had no idea the CVS brand wipes would be so great. I feel like I only need to use one sometimes to get the job done!

Baby Carrier: The Ergo Carrier works perfectly for my husband and I love my Tula Baby Carrier (first picture in this post). It’s fun because it’s a little more fashionable than the Ergo and it works just as well. They have a bunch of different designs/patterns to choose from and are all made by hand from 100% certified cotton.

Breastfeeding: This is an area where I think it makes sense to invest. You’re saving a lot of money by breastfeeding your baby so I think it makes sense to get what you need in regards to breastfeeding accessories/support. I got the boppy from my registry, but ended up liking the My Brest Friend pillow better. A lactation consultant at my pediatrician’s office had me use it and I was amazed. It has so much more support than the boppy. I feel like the boppy is almost too soft and wears down really quick. Another thing I highly recommend is a good nursing cover. You don’t want to be a hermit at home all of the time, but you don’t want to expose yourself. I’m a huge fan of the nursing cover I have from the Etsy Shop Native Wilds ( second picture in this post). I have the grey and white stripe nursing cover and baby outfit. The fabric is incredible. It feels like butter and is so cozy! Hope this helps! What are some of your favorite items for baby? Feel free to share in the comments!

These are great suggestions! For breast feeding, I really liked the Up & Up storage bags. Also, equipment-wise, I think everyone should have a Snuza baby monitor. They provide such great peace of mind!

Oh, nice! I need to get a monitor actually. I’ll check this one out!

I have never used a “best friend pillow” before it sounds like that is something I might need to purchase before baby #3 comes this July. Thanks for the tip!

It’s so beneficial for those early weeks!
