Starting A Skincare Routine
Once you hit 30, you start thinking about your skin. At least, I did. I started really regretting my obsessive need for being tan for the prom in high school. Why in the world did I ever lay in a tanning bed??? Did anyone else make the silly mistake of tanning in high school? I hope I’m not the only one!
Since I’ve been on the skincare bandwagon I also recently received my first laser treatment at Buckingham Center here in Austin, and it was an awesome experience. I’ll be sharing more about that on the blog later, but today I’m going to talk about starting a skincare routine.
I had heard about skincare routines for years, but I never really implemented one until recently. I always felt like I didn’t have enough time, but I decided to take the time and give it a try. I’ve been using the Skinfix line for the past month, and have been loving it. My face feels so smooth!
One thing that I cannot stand about certain skincare products is the smell. Luckily Skinfix hardly has a scent at all. It’s a very fresh & clean scent, so right away I was a fan! The products are light & airy, and leave your face feeling and looking flawless. Skinfix is all about healthy skin, and their line has a very unique Lipid Complex that strengthens your skin’s barrier. A weak skin barrier causes damage and dehydration, making skin look dull, so it’s really important to keep the barrier healthy! Who knew!?All of their products have clinically proven results & they’re made with natural ingredients. No harsh chemicals allowed 🙂
The skincare routine itself is actually really easy. There are only 4 products needed. The cleanser, the serum, the eye cream, and the moisturizer. It’s simple, quick, and effective. Exactly what a busy mom needs it to be!
The Foaming Oil Cleanser is coconut based so it’s so smooth & creamy… I actually look forward to washing my face with it. It gently but effectively washes away dirt and makeup while deeply moisturizing the skin with jojoba and macadamia oils so that you don’t feel tight and dry after cleansing (that stripping that most other cleansers cause leads to a weak skin barrier!).
The Moisture Boost Serum goes on next and it instantly moisturizes my skin. It’s super concentrated with ingredients like Peony Root and Red Seaweed extracts which reduce dark spots (thanks to those tanning beds…ugh!), repairs collagen and enhances overall radiance. If I have any leftover serum I rub it on the top of my hands. Did you know that the top of your hands are one of the first places to show aging?
Next I apply the Brightening Eye Cream. I always feel so amazing after I apply eye cream. It feels like this one instantly wakes up my eyes. It’s packed with vitamins yet lightweight and quickly absorbent to hydrate and diminish dark under eye circles.Lastly I apply the Hydrating Lotion which quenches my skin & leaves my face looking & feeling amazing! It instantly softens and smoothes for that dewy glow. If you’re extra dry, they have a thicker Nourishing Cream that you can use in place of the Hydrating Lotion.
I use all of the products twice a day, at morning and at night. It’s super easy, and has been working wonders on my skin! Do you use a Skincare routine? Have you tried Skinfix? Let me know in the comments!
