Rocking Pregnancy With SPD, Sciatic Pain, & Lightening Crotch

pregnancy

Guys, things have been rough since last Friday. I would be lying if I said I was enjoying pregnancy right now. The glow is gone, actually it was never here to begin with, and holy shiz I’m in a ton of pain.

On Friday night I was laying in bed, and I turned to my side. I lifted my right leg a little to put it on Dylan to cuddle (just keeping the romance alive when I’m totally jacked up, right? lol) Anyway, as soon as I lifted my leg I yelled extremley loud into Dylan’s hear. Sorry babe, hearing loss in your 30’s isn’t cool, I know. I literally felt a lightening bolt pain from my crotch down my entire leg. This was the beginning of my beautiful relationship with lightening crotch and sciatic pain.

The rest of the weekend was rough. I felt like I could barely walk without being in extreme pain. One minute I had sciatic pain, the next minute I had a lightening bolt pain in my crotch, and then the cherry on top would be the feeling of a bruised pelvis if I tried to move. At times it’s felt like my entire pelvis might split in half.

I don’t want to keep complaining, but guys this is rough. I mentioned what I was going through on my Instagram Stories, and the response was overwhelming. So many of you have dealt with this, and so many of you had amazing tips for me. In fact, some of you are going through the same thing yourselves right now. I appreciate you guys so much, and how you’re so supportive and helpful!

Once I was able to get into my doctor on Monday she clarified that I definitely had SPD, and also told me that the sciatic pain and lightening crotch is normal, and can happen to some women. Luckily the baby is fine. We monitored contractions and heart rate and I only had 2 small contractions in 20 minutes. Totally normal at this point, and baby girl is comfy and healthy.

My doctor gave me some options for pain relief such as going to a physical therapist, wearing a maternity belt, or getting a walker. Hopefully this wont lead to early labor, although 6-7 weeks of this pain is going to be terrible. Noah was 2 weeks late, and I was induced. I’ll probably be induced right at 40 weeks due to the pain I’m in. Supposedly the pain goes away after birth, so I’m really looking forward to that.

Luckily I can blog from bed, and hopefully you enjoy my mirror selfies & flat lays on Instagram, because I’m going to be stuck indoors for awhile. I will probably get out one day a week and try to shoot something for the blog if possible. Going to do my best to keep up here, but also put me and my baby first. Thanks so much for all of your support. You guys are the best!

Oh, and if you’re interested in the maternity belt, I’ll link it HERE. My doctor said this one seems to be the best, and the reviews are really hopeful!

XO,

Lee Anne

ooooh boy, I feel you! I am now eight weeks post partum with my little guy but I remember the pain! I never got a pregnancy belt, but I probably could have really used one. I had so much pelvic pain, it was awful! I hope that you can find some relief in the weeks leading up to your birth! I feel SO much better now-I hope you have a quick healing process, too!

Stay strong girl! It’ll of course all be worth it when you hold your baby for the first time! 🙂 And you’re right, at least you can blog from bed!
