Three Easy Ways To Practice Gratitude & Target Giveaway!
Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about gratitude. There are so many things to be thankful for on a daily basis, and I find it so uplifting to reflect on those things. For me, whenever a worry or negative thought comes into my head, I like to push it away with something that brings me gratitude. I’m definitely not perfect, but I’ve found that practicing gratitude on a daily basis can do great things for your mindset.
Today I’m going to share three easy ways to practice gratitude. I’ve been working on all of these things lately, and they have been so helpful. These are simple things that you can easily incorporate into your daily life.
Keep a Gratitude Journal– If you don’t like to actually write things out, you can use a gratitude app. There’s a great app called Gratitude! on the app store that I used to use. Recently I’ve been into writing everything out in a journal before going to bed, because I like the act of writing. I’m sort of old school like that. I like to stick to 3-5 things a day to write out, but if I feel more that day, I’ll add them.
Be Impeccable With Your Word– I learned this lesson while reading the book, The Four Agreements. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it. It’s amazing! “Being impeccable with your word means speaking with integrity, and saying only what you mean. It also means that you avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.” Try doing this one day. You will see how hard it can be. Just trying it for a day can be huge for your mindset. It’s awesome you guys, trust me! If you want to read more on it, I highly suggest reading the book!
Practice Gratitude During Exercise or Meditation– I am not the best at finding time for meditation, but when I find time for exercise I love to practice gratitude. When I’m working out at the gym, taking a yoga class, or just taking a walk in my neighborhood I find that it’s easy to spend time on gratitude. My mind is always in such a better state after a long workout. Working out can be so clearing for your mind, and it’s a great time to think about what you’re grateful for. You can also find some for gratitude if you have a long commute to or from work. It’s a lot better thank thinking about traffic!

I need to get that book. I try to write down what I’m grateful for at the end of the day but always forget. I need to keep the journal by my bed so I don’t forget! Love this post so much.

Ahh I love thinking about these things. One of my favorite books is “One Thousand Gifts” by Ann Voskamp. It seriously altered my thinking about gratitude and really helped shape the way I processed what I was grateful for. On my birthday, one of my best friends got me a little prompt book called “99 Things That Bring Me Joy” and each page it has a little prompt like “music you love” or “people who brighten your day” and you just fill it out. It’s a great way to keep in mind all of life’s little wonders!
